The Dusty Library

Poetry Blitz!

The readers have spoken, and we have listened.  Your faithful Librarian has been receiving feedback lamenting the paucity of our poetry collection.  Alas, it has been true: 'twas but a smattering of a few poems on the shelves.  In response, we are pleased to announce a Poetry Blitz - we will focus on stocking our barren shelves with more verse over the next few days.  To begin, we have augmented our collection of poems by Edgar Allan Poe. This is just the beginning. Keep watching as we stock our shelves with more lovely lines of verse! As always, if you have any suggestions or feedback, be sure to let us know!

Your faithful and diligent Librarian

Adventures In Reading at The Dusty Library

Sailing into uncharted territories, exploring new lands, risking danger at every turn: these are the things that get our hearts going and the pages turning!  Adventure stories are well loved by the young and old alike and The Dusty Library is proud to present a new section devoted entirely to such works!  It is, of course, our Adventure section and we have started the collection with two great classic adventures: Gulliver's Travels and Robinson Crusoe!  Perhaps you read these famous tales a long time ago and want to revisit them, or perhaps they are among the books you have always been meaning to read.  Either way, we invite you to go to our shelf, open a copy and let yourself escape into the wonderful world of reading!

Time Travel Comes to The Dusty Library

In 1895, the visionary author H.G. Wells wrote the first book about time traveling through use of technology.  The name of the book is "The Time Machine" and is considered one of the most groundbreaking science fiction classics by many scholars.  The story has been adapted for the silver screen not just once, but two times! It's an insightful and fast moving story of one man's journey through time.  We are proud to have added it to our collection and we hope you will enjoy reading it as much as we have!

Romance at The Dusty Library

Ah, the sweet joy of a first kiss, the wonder of love, the bitter pain of a lover's betrayal. Love, passion, lust and unrequited love are topics of some of the greatest works of literature. The Dusty Library is proud to present it's latest section devoted to this genre: Romance! To begin, we have added the great work Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. It is a fine example of historical fiction set in the Middle Ages and should be on the reading list of anyone who enjoys romantic stories. I hope you enjoy it! As always, we want to bring you the best in literature for your reading enjoyment!

Latest Addition: Divine Comedy

The Dusty Library expands!  We are proud to add Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy to our collection.  All Three volumes are now online for your reading enjoyment.  The translation chosen is by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.  It is our hope you will find great pleasure in reading what many consider the most significant work of literature in the middle ages and among the greatest works of all time.  The link to get started is found in the "Voluminous Works" menu. Enjoy!
